Dan and Teresa Brim are the owners of Brim Tractor Company, and this year marks Brim Tractor Company's 45th anniversary!

The history of Brim Tractor begins with the history of Bill Brim, Dan's father. Brought up on a dairy farm in Longview, WA, Bill was only 22 when he became part-owner of his first tractor dealership. Bill was in the tractor business for forty years, from 1947 to 1987. Bill and Dan's mother, Margaret, founded Brim Tractor Company in Lynden in 1967. Bill and Margaret not only weathered the constantly changing industry, they were instrumental in shaping it.

For example, Bill brought the first hydraulic-arm Bomford mower into the U.S. from England, which transformed the maintenance of roadsides and freeways. Brim Tractor was also on the frontier of computer technology when Dan's older brothers, Bob, Alan and Dave computerized the company in the late '70s. In order to market the software they had developed, Bob and Dave formed the company, Dealer Information Systems Corporation (DIS Corp), still going strong today.

In 1984, Dan came home from college and began working in the business. In 1988, Alan bought Brim Tractor from Bill, and had a successful run. In 1997, Dan and Teresa bought the company from Alan.

In 2000, Dan began expanding throughout the Pacific Northwest – opening new locations at the rate of about one location per year. He currently has six locations, namely Chehalis, Eugene, Lynden, Mount Vernon, Salem, and Sumner.
